DS1 has been asking for a long time now if he can have pocket money. We came to an agreement that he and DS2 can help out with some jobs around the house one day of the week and I will pay them some money if they complete all of the jobs.
We started this today and both boys were really excited to get some money in their money box. Today we agreed they could do five small jobs each for £1 and I was quite impressed with how well they did. One of DS1’s jobs was to load the dishwasher. I didn’t give him much guidance because I was interested to see how he did and I was pleasantly surprised. DS2 was most happy with his job of vacuuming downstairs. I was in the kitchen watching DS1 load the dishwasher and called out ‘how are you getting on?’. I could just hear DS2 giggling so I walk into the front room and he has the hoover stuck to his face and he is in fits of laughter.
DS1 suggested he could clean the floor and with a baby wipe under each foot and a baby wipe in each hand he whizzed around the front room on all fours. The floor wasn’t much cleaner than when he started but he had fun and I have to give him credit for his unique approach. I think I might give it a try myself and it could replace the old mop and bucket!
