Today started off so well. Child free and after three months of saying ill get to the hairdressers I finally made it. Sitting down reading a magazine while the hairdresser works her magic it was bliss!
The day took a turn on the school pick up with two year old. He has been such a grumpy hand full lately. He refuses to nap and is usually fine but lately come three o’clock, too late to nap, he becomes a little gremlin. Trying to run across the road when he usually waits for my hand, throwing himself on the floor at people’s feet it’s emotionally exausting!
He fell asleep while I was busy cooking dinner, wet himself on the sofa (any good tips on getting pee smell out of fabric?) And bedtime was of course a nightmare. A five minute nap and he’s bouncing off the walls keeping his two older brothers awake.
I was really impressed with my eight year old tonight though. As all the chaos was unfolding around him he asked if he could do anything to help. He loaded up the dryer for me, filled the water bottles for bed time and got every body’s pjs ready after bath time. He really is a godsend at times. He enjoys some grown up responsablity and it’s also just part of his beautiful sweet, caring nature.
I think I will have to do my best to reintroduce the lunch time nap. I’m thinking bribery is the only answer here. Time to stock up on chocolate buttons.

I am a 28 year old mum living in Kent. I am totally outnumbered living with my husband and 3 boys but I love the fun and adventure they bring to my life. As a family we enjoy being active and to get out and about as much as possible. A little about us Me- My husband and I met 12 years ago when I was 16 and him 19. Being so young I don't think either of us expected a nervous first date at the cinema to lead to marriage and 3 children but we soon became inseparable. It can be hard staying 'girlie' in a house full of boys. DS1- DS1 is very sporty. He enjoys football, rugby and swimming but his real passion is motocross. I think hubby would have happily had him on a motocross bike the second he took his first step but he first started to ride when he got his first 50cc bike at 6 years old. Now, aged 8, he rides with complete confidence on his 65cc and is desperate to start competing. As his mother I will always worry about him no mater what he does but seeing how happy this sport makes him makes me want to support him 100%. DS2- DS2 is a real animal lover. He would love nothing more than to have a house full of cats and dogs but unfortunately for him the only pet we have is our goldfish named 'Goldie'. When we visit family who have dogs DS2 will happily sit there for hours talking, stroking and trying to teach them tricks. Computer games is DS2's favourite pass time. He was gifted a tablet for Christmas last year and now, at 6, he has my husband bugging him on tips to get new levels. To keep active DS2 really enjoys swimming. He is not afraid of the water at all and would swim every day given the chance. He has such a loving, caring personality. DS3- DS3 is, well, a real handful as most 2 year olds are. He is never short of energy and zooms everywhere at a million miles an hour on his favourite balance 'motorbike'. Much to my husbands joy DS3 is also obsessed, yes obsessed with motocross. All he wants to do is play motorbikes, wear DS1's helmet and boots at any given chance and watch the videos of DS1 riding. DS3 learns so much from his older brothers and he surprises me everyday with how daring and forward he is in so many ways.

  1. Omg so it’s not just my LO fighting sleep🙏🏻. Despite how stressful your days sounded, sounds like you have it together. I hope when I have my second I can hold things together like that. And about the pee smell I actually before my baby worked in the animal field my whole life vet teching and as a master groomer. And have rescued and owned multiple dogs and animals and I feel like resolve brand cleaner for carpet and upholstery is the greatest if it can erase dog pee accidents I’m sure it could do the trick where your little angel had his accident :). Great post!!!

      1. I want a second child. We are discussing those plans right now as we become more financially stable and I get over my first birth. I’m not expecting at the moment thought just planning this time as Jackson was an unplanned blessing. Our motto back then was we won’t stress over getting pregnant but if it happens it will be great because we wanted a baby but I think when you try to plan when you will be pregnant it doesn’t happen so I didn’t think about it it happened and took me by surprise!!
